Emily Niebuhr is a true troubadour singer/songwriter who has played across North America from the shores of rural Alaska to the deserts of Phoenix to the heart of Nashville.
Born and raised in the cultural center of Minnesota she grew up singing jazz and later absorbed finger picking traditions and bluegrass on the porches of Oklahoma. Her music evokes a reverence to the blues, jazz and bluegrass traditions of this nation but often with a deviance that reflects the heart of the arctic.
Emily lived in Alaska for over a decade, often spending hours scoping the stunning but dangerous tundra in temperatures well below zero. As a filmmaker in Alaska, Emily brings the power and mystique of artcic landscapes and the power of the rugged beauty of Alaska into music and poses this one question to all listeners. What if today I decide to wander?
